La Esquina Verde
Guided by a certified local naturalist, journey through the history of the banana and learn about its impact on the Caribbean of Costa Rica. Discover how the land was once deforested and the consequences it had on people and nature. See firsthand how efforts to restore the ecosystem are bringing back native plants, wildlife, and a thriving, balanced environment
This walking tour invites you to step into the story of the banana in Costa Rica and explore an organic banana plantation designed not just for cultivation, but as a thriving habitat where wildlife coexists with the crops. As the land regenerates, native animals return, finding food and shelter among the plants—helping restore an ecosystem that mirrors the rich biodiversity of the bordering national park
The tour concludes with a traditional Costa Rican cafeteada, where we come together to share natural drinks, fresh fruits, organic chocolate, and delicious banana treats—along with, of course, a rich cup of Costa Rican coffee.
