About the experience

HALF DAY

WHAT TO BRING

HALF DAY

Visit a women-led Bribri family project and discover the sacred and spiritual importance of cacao in Bribri culture. Learn the traditional cacao-making process, taste freshly prepared cacao, and walk through the family's forest, where food, medicine and everyday life exist in harmony with nature.

Along the way, you'll discover medicinal plants, edible species, traditional agriculture, natural construction materials, and how the Bribri people have cared for and lived alongside the rainforest for generations.

More than a cultural visit, this is an opportunity to learn directly from a family that continues to preserve and share its ancestral knowledge. Their relationship with nature has been a great source of inspiration for La Esquina Verde and the way we understand conservation.

By joining this experience, you directly support the family who hosts you and help demonstrate that tourism can strengthen both cultural heritage and rainforest conservation.

FULL DAY

WHAT TO BRING

HALF DAY

Spend a full day immersed in Bribri culture and the rainforest.

Visit a women-led Bribri family project and discover the sacred and spiritual importance of cacao through its traditional preparation and tasting. Walk through the family's forest and learn how food, medicine and daily life have remained closely connected to nature for generations.

Enjoy a traditional Bribri lunch prepared by the family using fresh ingredients harvested directly from their land—a true from the forest and farm to the table experience.

Later, visit a Bribri Awá, the community's traditional healer or "shaman", to learn about Bribri spirituality, worldview and ancestral traditions before continuing to a beautiful waterfall surrounded by rainforest.

These experiences have been developed together with the Bribri family we have worked alongside for more than six years.

We intentionally keep our groups small to encourage genuine conversations and meaningful cultural exchange, ensuring that every visit supports the family, respects their traditions and never becomes a mass tourism experience.
